I've been thinking about this for a while now.
Times are tough and I have a DC-10, so I won't be DC-less.
1x12 combo with MC-90 speaker.

Here's what's been done:
Full Monsta-Tone mod set
Better Reverb
Better EQ
Cleaner Clean channel
New LDR's and 4N33 switching chips
Doug's Tubes set, with Ruby High Gain in V4 (better cleans than Doug's set offers)
Mercury Magnetics transformers (1st set made)
Re-covered in Ruby tolex (I never re-covered the back because I thought it looked good the way it was)
Series FX Loop
Cathode/Fixed Bias switch
Bias pot
EQ footswitch mod for Rev A

It's a Rev. A with the LED's, but it takes a 2 button footswitch for Channel & EQ.

$850 + shipping.
I know it's a little high for a DC-5, but it has all the bells and whistles, mint condition, and some serious MOJO!
I spent exactly $895 on it after transformers, tolex, etc.
Footswitch and cover included.

I might consider a trade, but mostly need the money right now.

ooooh, i will be all over it if it is a head. need a grab-and-go amp without the speakers.

Hate to see this one go, but i'd love to be able to afford it, but i can't, so.... good luck with the sale! You've got your DC-10 to keep you rockin' at least.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too.
I've got a DC-10 head and a Heartbreaker combo to keep me from being too heart broken (some, but not a lot of pun intended).

Plus, it might give me a chance to get some more of my work out there and get some good reviews!

now you got me thinking. i may be interested if you are willing to sell the amp alone without the cab and speaker. any idea how much gts is selling his head cabs?

you've got my gas afflictions going since i am in the market for a grab-and-go head. been considering a dc-3 or dc-5 and this popped up.

This one is definitely the cream of the crop! Let us know what you think of it if you end up snagging it...

Just added some pics!!!!!!!

My camera is pretty old and the lighting sucks, sorry!

In the pics, you can see that I re-covered it in the traditional Fender style, using 4 pieces of tolex.
It looks like the tolex is separating, but it's not, it's just the angle and the side view of the tolex itself.

Also, I re-used the original leather corners. They have a seriously broken in look. I tried new ones on the amp and thought the old ones looked much better.

I never got around to re-covering the back. I thought it looked good like it is, and I actually get a lot of compliments on it.

This is a really good deal when you consider what went into it.

DC-5 $650
Mods $300
LDR's and Capacitors $150 w/labor
Tubes $150

MM Transformers
Output $165
Power $225

$850 is a great price, considering all of the upgrades, and the fact that it will be trouble and maintenance free (other than the usual tube replacement) for may years to come.
