yeah, how many times have i seen that site quoted
i'm not saying i know absolutely nothing about the revisions, just all the exactly minute details. and btw i've done the + mod on a iic myself. drove to mesa and everything...
aside: when i was told it was ready by rich in sales, he said come by anytime. i said i was busy until the following thurs, when i was going to drive back up to petaluma the weekend of independence day. so it didn't occur to me they'd be closed on a thurs, per se, but i knew it was a holiday. i said "ok. do i need to call if i'm coming up?" he said no, so i just waited till thurs. when i got there, there was one lady (i wanna say jan, but that might not be right) in the office and i said, "oh. nobody's here." she said, "tell rich that you stopped by and give him my name and tell them you'd like it shipped for free." following week i called and the amp arrived very very well packed in 2 days. that is excellent customer service.
anyway, yeah.
i stand corrected about my correction. i never spent much time with it cause i needed the money for an emergency set of things but i've recovered financially and now am ready to really put to use the iic+ mode (once i pick up my v combo). i'm ok with it not sounding perfect cause to me i could chalk up the imperfections to any number of things, like the noise of my house power, my lack of effects, etc. good sound takes a bit of $$ to really lock it in. and if you're like any normal artist, your tools and tastes will likely change a lot anyway.

cudbucket, i think you meant "mark v w/ mark v mode" (of course, the iv didn't have its own mode).
I think he stated it correctly. The original question was why doesn't the Mark V have a Mark V mode. Cudbucket was saying it's completely consistent with prior Marks, such as the Mark IV, which did not have a separate "mode" for the Mark IV sound. It's implied that the amp has its own sound without needing a seperate mode. The Mark IV manual included a method for attaining the C+ sound, although there was no seperately designated mode.
