The amp sounded best with the CV4024 in the PI.

Same with my C+

Rookie question, I think. Who makes the CV4024 12at7. I'm trying to get my C+'s to sound as cold sweaty as I possibly can. I have the Sylvania power tubes and an assortment of nos pre's. What do you use V1 thru V4. Been dying to ask ya and now seems like the time. Sorry to hijack this thread.

The cv4024 are made by Mullard, Brimar, and other European companies. The 12at7 are made by the American companies like GE, RCA, Raytheon and so on.
Here is what I am running in the Mark III. V1 RCA black plate 5751, V2 GE 12ax7, V3 Raytheon 12ax7a, V4 RCA black plate 12ax7, and PI or V5 Mallard CV4024. I am still figuring out what I like best in the C+.

What I am liking in the C+ so far is.
V1 RCA black plate 5751
V2 GE 12ax7
V3 RCA 12ax7
V4 Brimar 12at7
PI Mullard CV4024

In the C+ I am pretty sure I am going with
V1 JAN Phillips 12ax7
V2 RCA 5751
V3 JAN Phillips 12ax7
V4 GE 12ax7
PI Mullard CV4024

I've pinched this setup (although I'm running a Fender branded GE 7025 in V2). Highly recommended particularly with Reverb and R2 vol mods.
