Strange !

looking at your settings almost the same as mines.
Especially in "lead mod" turning the MID knob there's almost no difference to hear ????????
Pulling "Pull Deep", boosting is so much that it sounds like a different amp, pushed in, sounds like a razor, having lost the entire bottom ?????

You're right about restoring mids to be the secret. Especially on the MkIII, it brings the warmth and definition back into an already aggressive amp. My volume, master, and lead drive settings are a bit different (lower volume gain, higher master, lower lead drive) but otherwise, pretty darned close to the same. What speakers/cab(s) are you running thru? I'm pushing 2 old school Boogie 2x12 half-back vert cabs with C90s and they just completely rock. Nice post. Most guitarists are afraid of giving away their "secret".

Ha! I wish I had your rig! I'm running just the 112 combo (EVM 12L Speaker), with no FX usually. Sometimes I'll put a Delay in the loop, but that's rare.

Also, thanks for the W EQ suggestion. I'll try that one out. No hurry tho. The amp sounds great with the EQ out.

that's pretty awesome! you use your combo as a monitor. sweet rig! are you entertaining or pissing the neighbors off?

We were doing a block party. And yes, we were pissing off the neighbors! The party was hosted by a couple of police officers so we had a free pass to rock the block. So we did. 8)

I've generally gotten better results by boosting the 750 and cutting the 240/2200 sliders, giving it a W shape instead of a V.

It works particularly well for lead tones since it's fat without as much much honk as a more neutral EQ provides.

On the Mark V however I've grown to like the preset knob. It seems to be notched different than the graphic EQ, so it can produce some pretty tailored scooped tones without gutting the midrange.

I only recently started stacking them. Since my tinnitus is not getting any better I needed to hear myself better. This puts every bit of juicy goodness right into my eardrum. It carries a bit more too and helps drive the guitar for outdoor gigs where the sound energy dissipates quickly. Oh, and the EV in the combo cab isn't used normally. No more monitoring is needed with those cabs at my back.

Three of these cabs would be badassed. Heck, make it even, go with 4. 8)

Sweet sister Sadie, talk about tinnitus...
It's a wonder U have any hearing left at all with all those cones pushing air at ya...
And a MkIII as a monitor... truly decadent...
And there's a fair tap-dance capability too with the pedals..

What's the box where the input lead (yellow h/s) goes into ??
Noice!!

that's pretty close to how i set mine as well.
i use the "pull deep" only for bedroom playing as i find it's not needed at band volumes.
Also, i go back & forth w/the "pull shift" on the bass knob: thickens things up nicely but loses some definition.

On my MKIIA :

V1 T B M M1 LD LM Eq Rev Pres Slave
7 7 5 5 3-10 8 8 in 4 4-5 1

the Eq is flat except the 6600 at max.
the gain boost on M1 is pulled (on)
I always use reverb
Guitar : ESS-335
Sounds : clean or "Santana-styled"

I use a DIY FSW :

So I can switch what I need, by 2, if necessary.

A+!
