What a frickin concert last night...

The Constantines followed by Sloan, and then the man himself, Dave Grohl. You can see the local press release for the show:

I new they used RK's for their heavy sounds but I was under the impression they <Grohl> used Vox for cleans. Last night he used a Lone Star Special 2x12. I coudnt see all his effects, im sure there was a (mabye boss) tuner in pedal form, also some kind of phaser. He had an amazing sound. He did a little solo stuff to, I couldnt make out this auto wah he was using though, it sounded organic, yet he was running around.

**** Gibson firebirds where gems...WOW! Shifletts sound was weaker, a little dry, a wonderful player though.

Raw energy in this show was amazing.

David.

Too cool!

I love the Foo's. That backdrop with all of the speakers is awesome. Thanks for the gig report!

That's interesting. GuitarGeek.com shows an older rig with Dual Rectifiers and Vox AC30's. And the last I checked the official Foo Fighters site it showed only Road Kings.

Now it says currently just Rectifiers.

I have an old Mesa catolog that shows Dave sitting on a Blue Angel I believe.

When I saw the Foo in London they were playing regular Lone Stars. According to Mesa Dave is using the new all black Lone Star combo's.

I saw your much newer post after I posted :D

Kinda makes me wonder when Mesa is going to come out with the Voxifier. May have to start a new thread...

Hyde Park didn't have the pile o' speaker cabs just a line of Mesa 4x12's on either side of the drum riser with a single Lone Star, mic'd of course.
