Have you guys any experience with the "E34L high gain kit" from Eurotubes?

I am about to order this kit for my Roadster head. But before I do, I'd like your thoughts.

So, if any of you have a comment on this please share your opinion... soundwise that is!

thanks

The E34Ls sound great in a Rectifier. My Rectoverb came with a pair and they add that mid-range crunch and treble smoothness, but retain most of the bottom end of a 6L6. Much better sounding tube than the KT77s. I've not tried the high gain 12AX7s yet, but I really want to soon!

I loved the JJ El34L's in my Dual, but didn't really care for the "High Gain" set of pre amp tubes. sounded kind of dark. Just my opinion, but I would get the power tubes and look for a NOS pre amp tube. Brent and Jessie recording service has some pretty reasonable prices and you will only have to buy 1 or 2. Good luck!

I don't have a single good thing to say about JJ Testla tubes. I think they sound shrill, brittle, and harsh. I bought the E34L high gain kit a few years ago...and immediately yanked the tubes out and sold them to a friend. If you like the idea of an EL34 with more low end and the tightness of a 6L6 I really recommend Tung-Sol EL34b's.

Can't say I agree with your take on JJ tubes, but I do agree that the TS EL34Bs are great tubes!
