Could be the pickups?? those 57/08's are pretty nice...also not sure what kind of speakers he's using in that CAE cab....though I have to admit...mine doesn't sound muffled

You could try turning the bass down on that channel and use the EQ to adjust for the lack of low end. The Mark I sound already has loads of bass. This is what the manual recommends.

Turn up the channel master to 3:00 or higher....

This video might have discouraged me from ever picking up a Mark V...
The way he sets the clean channel breaks up way too much for my purposes ...
The Mark V is capable of having much more headroom then that.

However, with that being said, it is a good demo for the other channels

The FIVE has awesome cleans. But the onset of clip sounds in Ch. 1 are so good it's hard not to use them.
