The Banff Mountain Film Festival
in a word..... excellent.
i've been going to this for 12 straight years now.
one of the benefits of living in Salt Lake, the U of U sponsors it every year, for the last 21 years.
last night, about 2,000 people showed up.
i enjoy this more than sundance.
unlike sundance, which is art-sy fart-sy....
this film festival, mostly tells stories.
very compelling stories, the kind of stuff i like, anyway.
this is a good glimpse, right here:

CHASING WATER (a favorite)
COLD
ON THE TRAIL OF GENGHIS KHAN: THE LAST FRONTIER (one of the best i've seen in 12 years)
REEL ROCK: SKETCHY ANDY
TOWERS OF THE ENNEDI (the best cinementograpy of the bunch last night)
IF YOU CAN-
GO.
