I loved the idea of a vertical 2 x 12 cabinet like the Mesa Rectifier cab for my TC-50.
But there were a few things I would change, like the speakers and the back panel.
I like a semi-open back, gives the cabinet a chance to breathe a bit.
So instead of buying the Mesa cab and having it doctored, I called my buddy Jeff Swanson, an expert cabinet builder.
Jeff has built me a number of cabinets as well as modifying a few in the past.
So I had Jeff build me a 2 x 12 vertical cabinet in the Mesa style, with my choice of speakers (WGS) and a 3-piece back that can be partially open or totally closed.
Took a while, but wow. Picked up the cab today and it looks and sounds killer.
And actually cost me less than a new Mesa vertical 2 x 12.

Based on recommendation from WGS:
WGS ET65 (top)
WGS Veteran 30 (bottom)
I own a number of their speakers and think they sound great and are reasonably priced.

Thanks. I’ve seen that the ET65 / Veteran 30 is usually recommended as a mixed pair.

What kind of music are you playing?

Classic rock for the most part.
My brain wants to hear my old 100-watt Marshall/Power Soak through a 4 x 12 Marshall cab.
So impractical at this point in my life.
