'take it all'

this is a new mix of a song off my "Trouble" album.
it features brent dacus on drums.

i was never completely happy with my mix on this song....... so just for fun, i thought i'd rip the files from roland backup data cd's into reaper, dump it in sonar, and give it another pass.
all tracks recorded on a VS-1880, drums on a 2480.

all guitars into a 60 watt mark2b, into a Demeter Isolation cabinet with a vintage 30, miced with combinations of sm57 and AT4033.

gonzo, that sounds real good. question for you....i use roland stuff as well but was thinking about upgrading to pro tools or sonar and i've been reading alot about sonar....do you like it?

MetalMatt
thanks man!
glad you liked it....

masque-
i like sonar.
i first had a roland vs-880ex, then a vs-1880, which i used to record my 'Trouble' album on.
i burned data discs in 24 bit, and had it professionally mastered... tho the vs has a 'mastering suite' of effects in it.

but i dig sonar....
plus, it's compatible with other platforms.. the roland wasn't, without extra gear. the higher end roland (2480) can do wav export.

the sonar is much more powerful, tho not as portable (unless you're setup with a laptop and good rackmount interface).
i'd say do it.

and thanks for listening......

i love my mark 2b, that's why i've never gotten rid of it...
granted, i like the bogner shiva sound a lot...
and i dig other mesa's......lonestar, stiletto, single rectifier....
i like marshall jmp's, and i like fender blackface and supersonic, i like ampeg v4, and i like hiwatts....
but that mesa is unique in a way that just works for me.
thanks for checking it out!
