Switching vacuum tube to silicone diode

Can I switch my dual rec to silicone diode when my amp is in standby or should I do it when the amp is shut off????

I don't think it matters. Manual doesn't state either way. However, to be on the safe side, I would switch to standby before selecting your rectification method.

I switched it many times WHILE playing... no problem. Just switch it on standby to be safe.

Me too.. In fact I did it yesterday. If you're nervous about it, switch it to standby. If you want, you can call Mesa and ask them - I did something to that effect (albeit about a different switch) a few years ago and I think they said it was perfectly fine.
