Hi everyone !

Today I've got my new (2nd hand) Mark IV. I love it !!!

Now I have a little question: is it safe to switch between Class A / Simul Class and between Triode / Pentode when the amp is turned on ? Or should I turn the amp off, switch, and then turn it back on ?
It's probably a stupid question, but I don't want to damage the tubes (or anything else) too fast.

Also, when I pull/push the Lead presence knob, the amp makes a kind of loud *click* noise. Is that normal ?

Thanks in advance !

Just turn on the Standby switch when your changing the switches, no need to turn it off. I'm not too sure about your Presence knob problem, it shouldn't be that big of a problem to worry about.

You can do everything while it's "On".

Yes, but your tubes will last longer if you put it on standby when changing the simul/pentode/triode settings.

Surely they wouldn't have an external switching jack for the Class A/Simul-Class if you couldn't switch it while the amp was on...
