Hi!

I just came across this auction in UK eBay, which seems to be a little suspicious and wanted to share this before bidding.

First of all, the description is very brief. Nothing about the history of the amp or so. He also doesn't accept paypal, which has buyer protection. I mailed him about shipping to Estonia and he answered, that it would be 33 pounds. He has also made it a secret bidding, so nobody could see who has bidded for the item. But his feedback is the most suspicious thing. When I am in "My eBay" section and refresh the page, then after a while the number of feedbacks change from 34 to 0. Here is the screenshot I made:

So what do you think? Is it normal or should I report it to eBay or something?

Yeah, I thought the feedback was odd also. Like you said, could just be a coincidence, but it does put you off a little.

Back on again ..... btw, how on earth can shipping to Estonia be £33 ????
More than likely he doesn't know where it is !
Steer clear of this one.

I bought my Mark IV from ebay but I insisted on driving about 200 miles to pick it up. There's no way I would trust someone to send something of that value without any buyer protection.

Hi,

Does anyone know anything else about this guy? I recently bought an Amp from him as a second chance offer which seemed a bit odd but I ended up getting a good price after making a deal with him. He requested payment directly to his card which worried me with no buyer protection. I then find that the seller is no longer registered with Ebay and email him instantly. He attempts to reassure me and gives me his mobile number so I am able to speak with him in person to assure me he is not a scammer. I phone him up and all seems ok, he was pleasant enough and explained the situation, we came to an agreement that I could pay 50% now and the other when it arrived - £75 so I ended up making a payment. It has now been two weeks and nothing has arrived, I phoned him after a week and he reassured me that it had been sent and he was supprised it had not yet arrived. I will be phoning him again tonight. I realise it may have seemed stupid to make payment when this should happen but his positive feedback and verbal communication appeared fine. I will be contacting Ebay shortly about his suspension.

Sorry to alarm you Matt, but the auction with the Mark IV is no longer up, so apparently he is a scammer. I hope not, for your sake, but it is never a good idea to settle anything outside of ebay... I hope you receive your item!
