Fender amps are 6L6 based, and they have a decent clean tone 8)
Anyway, for a better clean, load some 6L6's and 12at7 or 12au7 preamp tubes. Pair these with an open back cab (with higher wattage speakers) and you should be on your way to a much better clean tone.
