Got a 60 watt, C+, reverb/EQ and original Black Shadow speaker and at high volume it's fabulous but
at lower volumes it's lacks some "warmth". Any suggestion for warming it up and still being able to
handle higher volumes? I should probably just get a lower power amp but am considering a different
speaker and don't want to do the power soak thingys. Has anyone tried any speakers from Austin Speaker Works, i.e KTS-60?
Thanks for all replies.

The Mesa branded Eminence MS-12 rated at 150w would be my recommendation. They are no longer made but you can find them used once in a while.
They are a warmer sounding speaker and can handle a lot of power.

Mesa offered a few choices. Black Shadow could mean EVM12l, MS-12, C90 and the 50W Eminence. Any warmer sounding speaker than an MS-12 would be like a blanket over the amp.

EVM-12L and don't look back. That speaker was made for the Mark amps, it seems. I use nothing but those speakers in my C+'s and IV's.
