I have an EC-1000 w/ Straplocks installed

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Schaller-Strap-Locks-and-Buttons-Pair-?sku=360389

They keep coming out!!!! What do i do? Try Dimarzio clip locks or use super glue or wood glue to get my screw to stay in?

Thanks

The problem is that Schaller uses smaller screws than most strap buttons use.

Here's what you do.

Grab a couple of toothpicks. You need to put a dab of super glue (or wood glue) on the toothpick and cram it into the strap button hole to plug it. Tap the toothpick gently into the hole - but the general idea is to fill the hole. Clip it flush. Let it dry. Install strap locks.

Ta daaaaaa!!!!! :)

I use small wooden dowels made for model ship building. Principle is the same as noted above.

I fill the holes completely....some just insert a match stick or a couple toothpicks. It is important that you fill those holes up.

Don't worry about having the same type of wood or anything like that. Just use a good quality wood glue and wood to fill the holes.

I use the dowel method also. It's a great, durable solution. Just be patient enough to let the glue cure completely and drill a properly sized pilot hole before attaching the hardware. I actually drill out more wood rather than just filling in the hole left by the screw, and then use a 1/4" or even 3/8" hardwood dowel.

I use the screws that the guitar came with and modify the Straplock buttons and/or screw heads to fit.

on a les paul i modified the strap locks to take a much bigger screw never comes loose. So that is my advise use a bigger screw.

Same problem was happening to me, cept one day i got all angry at it so i just kinda screwed it back in extra hard, and it hasn't come out since.

Knock on wood.

Same problem. stripped them. Toothpicks is the answer i play hard live throwing my guitar around and it works perfect. TOoTHpICks

The toothpick method is not a long-term solution IMO. They have always given up down the road.

I get big lag bolts (or something close) and grind down the diameter of the head of the screw. You will also sleep better knowing if you were playing on a REALLY tall stage and fell and were hanging on by the strap, it would not let you down.

Now days I just use Dimarzio Cliplock straps. Amazing straps!
