I am trying to figure out how I can connect up my guitar rig with the correct resistance (ohm) ratings. I currently have an 8 ohm Mesa recto 4x12 cab, and a 16 ohm (mono)/ 8 ohm (stereo) VHT fatbottom 4x12 cab. I am looking to hook both these cabs up to my Triple Rectifier, but the resistance of the two cabs in parallel would be 5.33 ohms. I could probably get away with wiring this to 8 ohms on my triple, but I would greatly prefer to have the correct ohm rating. My plan is to use an A/B pedal, and run my guitar to my triple rect, and my ADA MP-1 preamp, while having the MP-1 into the unused channel of my Mesa Strategy 400 Stereo. I'm hoping to run my ADA(via 8 ohm jack on my 400) into my VHT cab. This would put the cab in "bi-amp AKA stereo mode", making it an 8 ohm cab. So then I suppose I could hook my triple up to my 8 ohm recto cab, and my now 8 ohm stereo VHT cab, therefore both cabs would be running at 4 ohms into my triple rect. Would this work? :? I would then be able to have a stereo/mono guitar effect live by switching from my ada on one cab, to my triple on both. So both cabs into 4 ohms on my triple, and the VHT into 8 ohms on the 400? Or would the VHT also run 4 ohms on my 400? Or would this not work because one amp would not have any effect on the resistance due to the fact that the signal is A/B between them and only one amp would be giving an output signal at a time? Or should I sell everything and start over? Help would be greatly appreciated.

5.33 ohms won't hurt the Triple.
I guess my question is: Why not let each amp have its own 4 x 12? It would seem there would be a volume disparity with the Triple running six 12's (the Recto cab and half the VHT cab) and the ADA/Strategy running only 2 (the other half of the VHT cab).
To say nothing of the Strategy's 400 watts into only two 12's.
