Hi!

New to this forum and I got my first Mesa Boogie amp today.

A Stiletto Deuce. My question is....How the  do I know if it is a Stage II or a Stage I???

I got this used and the guy who sold it thinks that it´s a Stage II, but if I google it they all look alike. Is there any visable difference or do I have to go by the serial number to find out?? And in that case...Where do I search?

Thanx.

If it's a Stage II the jewel light on the front will be green not red and there will be a roman numeral II beside the input and foot switch jacks on the front panel.

Where is the difference between Stiletto stage 1 and 2. What are they changed on stage 2?

I wouldn't really count the jewel light. People swap those things all the time.

BTW - Anyone know where the serial numbers finally trailed off for Series I and where Series II started? Curious how many were made.

Search the forum there are plenty of answers to this question. You can also check the Mesa Boogie website.

The important thing is.... do you like how your amp sounds?

They changed the transformer and added more gain . all modes were updated except tite gain . version II is a "faster" amp if you will . Ive owned both, version I is a killer amp in its own right . If there is no roman numeral II on the front then you have version I .

I have owned series I and II

Have to say that I do prefer series II but series one is still pretty awesome. Series II is a little hotter and the fat clean is clearer to my ears.
