Has anybody heard any rumours or suggestions of one of these from the Mesa factory? I think it'd be cool..

Thoughts?

I asked a rep about this, he stated that their rackmount stuff is low on their priority list right now. So, the Stilletto pre is probably not going to happen. I wouldn't be surprised if the triaxis becomes discontinued.

that actually wouldn't surprise me too much, rack gear is not 'where it's at' these days purely as a fashion thing. I have a feeling that the proportion of people making really careful decisions to buy 'pro' gear has really dropped even if the number has increased slightly.

Yeah, but the Mark series ain't "where its at" either. Are you suggesting they drop everything except for the Rectifiers? Oh wait, they already practically did that :x

It's because having your guitar sound like s**t is in fashion again in the pop/rock world

I don't know if belgium represents whole europe but if I walk into a shop selling mesa here in belgium I always see a lot of rectifiers ans stiletto's
(by the way the stiletto's don't sell too well), but never any markseries, neither rackgear. Yesterday I was thinking, what if the shop here in my city would sell some markseries. That would be great for them I think. The older guys looking for some santana tones would be really happy with a mark I. And also for the modern rockpeople that now play on a fender or marshall would find a great alternative in a markseries.
The metalheads, now always getting suggestions to buy a rectifier, would see the mark IV and try it. I think more mark IV's would be sold than rectifiers, because a lot of metalguys don't know how thight and heavy that not agressive at all looking amp sounds. I remember when I bought my mark III while I was playing in my former band, the other guitarist thought I would better buy an ENGL or something. He never heard of a markseries and the first time he saw my amp, he thought the amp would be too softsounding.
A little while later, we were talking about his gear. He plays a XXX, and he was already talking about selling his peavey and buying a mark IV

I think shops are just so stupid to not put markseries in the shop and that is a big reason for markseries not selling too well.
Only a small percent of guitarists visits guitarfora, and the other ones follow the opinion the sellers in the guitar shop give

I know I would love a "KingAxis" preamp (terrible name...) that was basically a Rec Pre with four channels, fx loops that don't suck, and that can store presets.

I just think it would probably end up costing like $3500 and being three rack spaces Nobody except me and five producers would buy it, because it just wouldn't make sense for those few people who have $3500 to drop on an amp, as opposed to just buying a Road King.

I'm avoiding the whole Mark-series-vs-the-world debate :)
