Platypus....I too liked my stock Ace - until I put some TungSols under the hood!!! New TS in V1 sounds really nice. Took a bit of the edginess off the whole sound (but not too dark). The real event was changing out my EL34s. The TS EL34B tubes really changed the character of the beast. I really was hooked on the sound I was getting before, but now it's closer to true love 
. I took my Ace out to my farm over the weekend and tried it out w/ some real volume and it just floored me at EVERY level. I couldn't be more ecstatic. I am really kind of addicted to this amp!! It's just so ME :mrgreen: ...!!!
