Heard from a Mesa trader in Oslo that Mesa is planning to come out with a Stiletto who has the same Power switching possiblities than a Lonestar/ Mark meaning you can not only switch from 50 to 100 but also down to 10 Watt.
Anyone knows anything about that?

No but that's cool. I may actually end up buying that amp now that I play mostly at home.

So it would be low power (spongy?), recto tube, possibly triode @ 10 watts....

hoping they throw a third channel in too. i would run to buy one.

+1.

a 3 ch version with that layout/modes per ch will be awesome: 8)

Ch 1

Fat Clean
Tite Clean

Ch2

Crunch I
Tite Gain

Ch3

Crunch II
Fluid Drive

As long as we're dreaming.
From what I've read here, many of us like our Presence and Treble settings for the gain/crunch modes at around 9:00 or less give or take.
 How about making that tone we like obtainable at around 12:00. :) Bring it back to the center!

Be careful what you wish for as it may come true.......
More bells and whistles (channels/modes) can mean more tone suck and higher price...anybody remember the Nomad?

Oops...did I just open a can of worms?

Actually just a couple of resistors and capacitors in the presence and tone stack circuits can do that now. But better wait until after the warranty expires!

does the tone of the mark IV or V suck? The RK is very complicated as well...

I actually do not mind that I have to set the Presence down so low. It is what it is.
I just never understood why it is that way.

And one of the things that attracted me to the Stiletto is the fact that it was a two channel amp with what I thought was just the right amount of features.
I still do.

My first Mesa was a Nomad. It's was sold to finance my Budda. :D

actually i dont know if what im wishing is that complicated . . . what i want is that they split in 3 channels what they already have in 2. i dont have that much knowledge in building amps, but i dont think having one more channel will suck any tone, cause what will be really going in the circuit is that the signal will just have another route to go/choose, but in no way they will interpolate, but again, coming from a absolute jerk in terms of building amps

Allright!! It worked!
Let's go fishing!!!!

Seriously, relax guys, we all know Mesa can build a very complicated amp that will still sound killer!
I too wish the Stilettos had a couple "improvements"...but I would also be happy not to pay more for it. Perhaps they will come up with enhancements as they did for other models.

Time will tell! :D

I really can't think of anything i would want different with my 2 deuces. As far as the high end, my second favorite amps are my jcm800's and i run the treble even lower on those. I run about 11-12 on the stilletos, presence off. on my 800's i run treble at about 10-11 and presence off..No problems here.

I hear ya....I really do like my Ace the way it is. I have a Triaxis and 50/50 that while an awesome rig, pretty much sits these days.
Reverb would be nice, but I have a "D Reverb" kit on 'back order' from Gen Guitar Gadgets and that will work fine in the loop.
Switchable loop would be cool, but I can live without it. Besides, I could add that myself when the warranty is up (along with adjustable bias...)

...Later! :D

Hey BF :D

do you really can make the loop footswitchable without major issues?? i was reading another tread here and the tech guys said it is not worth to do that mod (or even possible).

wondering how you'll do it. 8)

I would be interested in an adjustable bias though. Be fun to try it out. Be cool to make it adjustable enough to try out different tubes too i.e. kt77's, 6l6's...NOW im dreaming.

I don't run my presence as low as some of you do. Maybe I'm retarded...
I wouldn't say that.
I have a 27 year old son who plays guitar also. When he uses my Stiletto he dials it up higher too.
He gets it to sound pretty mean that way. Just not what I would use.

Yeah, with my PRS Mark Tremonti USA I, with the neck pickup replaced with a Dimarzio 36th anniversary PAF neck, here are my settings:

Channel 1:

Mode: Crunch
Gain: 12 o'clock
Treble: 1:30 o'clock
Middle: 12 o'clock
Bass: 2 o'clock
Presence: 11:30 o'clock
Master: 9:30 o'clock

Channel 2:

Mode: Tite Gain
Gain: 9:30 o'clock
Treble: 1:30 o'clock
Middle: Just a hair under 12 o'clock
Bass: 3 o'clock
Presence: Just a hair under 12 o'clock
Master: 9:30 o'clock

Output at 10 o'clock. Both modes are running diodes at 100W. Bold power as well. Loud enough for personal use...

I prefer my presence up, too. It gives it a better bite/crunch sound. You just have to balance it with the treble and mids and the sound is sweet.
