So tonight we went in and dialed in the tones for our full length album, and things are sounding massive. The main rhythm tone is my Caparison Angelus split into two paths. One going into my Roadster boosted with a Maxon OD and then into my Recto 4x12 miced with a SM57 into a Universal Audio SOLO610 mic pre before hitting the ProTools rig. The second path is into a Peavey Supreme head into a Carvin 4x12 loaded with Greenbacks with a SM57 and an AKG D112 on the cab. Those two cabs are in isolated rooms for the core sound, and then we're running a Marshall 1960A 4x12 in stereo with both sounds and setting up room mics in a 40'x40' room for some more atmospheric stuff. Blending the mix of solid state and tube amps is really working really well and the tones are sounding better than we ever imagined. The Mesa is super warm and punchy, and the Peavey adds some crunch and sizzle in the top end without being 'fizzy'.

I'll post some pictures and videos soon.

Sounds delicious Nitro... mixing SS and Tube can be a great thing (i used to do it almost all the time). Looking forward to some clips.
