speaker types

I'm looking for info on the different types of speakers you may find in different amps/cabs and how they differ in tone. Does any one know of a good site or thread I could look at? ..or give a quick rundown of what's out there and what they sound like?

Go to www.webervst.com and read the info under "Speaker Resources"
for lots of information on vintage, American type and British type speakers.

Also visit http://www.southbayampworks.com/faqs.html , home of Scumback speakers (pre-Rola Celestion Greenback reproductions). These may or may not be the speakers for you, but the site explains some of what affects tone, for example cone resonance, size of dustcap. Weber makes the Scumback speakers to Jim's specifications.
