Sovtek tubes?

Are these really the worst tubes I can have in my MarkIII?Seems to be the concensus around here.Are there tubes out there that can give me a better sound for 80's metal music?I don't know much about tubes yet.

Everyone seems to rip on Sovtek's around here but mine sound great in my Tremoverb. I'm stoked! (or maybe just tone deaf)

I have a set of Sovtek EL 34s in my Single Rec Head and I don't have any complaints. They are however the only EL34s I have tried so far (been running them for 3 weeks) so I don't have much to compare them to.
