Some boost/channel 2 info

i have came to the conclusion that i need a boost pedal to tighten up my rhy 2 channel on my mark 4.i understand about the switchable loop...but with the boost needing to go in front of the amp,i guess there is no way to engage it only when i turn channel 2 on?the boost does need to go in front of the amp,right?also,anyone have a suggestion for a reasonably priced true bypass boost?

+1 on the BB . Works great on channel 1 also for some great bluesy sounds.....
