HEY,
IS THERE A WAY TO SET MY AMP UP SO THAT WHEN PRESS THE CHANNEL 1 BUTTON ON MY MESA PEDAL THE SOLO COMES ON AUTOMATICALLY WITHOUT HAVING TO HIT THE SOLO SWITCH AND THEN WHEN I CLICK THE CHANNEL 3 BUTTON THE SOLO TURNS OFF??

PLEASE LET ME KNOW????

you could probably achieve that with a midi switching setup, it would be fairly expensive and finicky to set up but once done you would have ultimate control over your recto

I'm assuming you want to do this because the cleans on rectos are inherently quieter than the dirty channels, for a simpler solution to your problem I'd just get a boost and kick it in for cleans. if it needs to be a one stomp thing maybe just put the boost pedal upside down beneath the channel one button on the foot-switch so the ball of your foot hits the channel and the heal hits the boost.

hope this helps.

Well pricey all depends on ones perspective but not all are finicky. The RJM products are stupid easy to use. The RJM Amp Gizmo and Micro Gizmo are extremely easy to sue and for what they do aren't that expensive. Also if you ahve any midi capable effects in can control the pacthes. If your more of a pedal guy the RG-16 is god sent. You have control over all the amp switching as well as bringing in and out 8 audio loops. While expensive its worth its price, and infact is much cheaper than comparible products. Top quality stuff.

Why not just turn the volume knob up on the clean channel?

Depending on much gain you run and how loud you keep the channel volumes on channels 2 and 3, you'd have to pretty much crank channel 1 to even come close, especially if you run both 2 and 3 in "Modern" mode. This would cause natural tube distortion, and if you want a true "sparkly" clean, that will not work. It becomes gritty or "bluesy" and there's nothing you can do besides turn down the gain, which will also reduce volume. I use "Vintage" mode, which takes some of the overall volume out of the 2 distortion channels, and it allows me to keep them relatively close, with channel 1 around 1 o'clock and channels 2 and 3 around 11:30. I keep the gain on ch 1 around 12:00. If you keep the loop engaged so that you can run the amp master (since you are using the solo function, I assume you do), then I'd turn down the masters on channels 2 and 3 a little bit, and then bump up channel 1 a little more, or try a clean booster or pickup booster to try and get more volume, as mention by others. Also, what type of pickups are you using? Their output might not be sufficient to give you a bright, defined clean volume as well. Just some thoughts, because I have had this problem before too.
