Wow - that was quick. Thanks Jake!

//// - update. jeeez, i got talked into selling my other mesa triple rec R002561. Sold the closed back 2x12 cab/case, still have an open back 2x12 cab (with road case) with vintage 30's if anyone is interested. Pics below. Although the pic shows a road case with casters, that road case sold with my other 2x12. same exact road case, but with rubber feet - comes with this one.

Possibly a new Roadster combo for me? we'll see...

CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHY THESE GUYS THINK THEY CAN SELL THIS ROADSTER FOR $5k to $6500??? I mean I love the look. Not so crazy that they are killing an alligator to wrap it up in, but I can't see the $3k bump in the price, for certain... http://www.imagineguitars.com/amps/mesa/MesaRoadster.htm

- re: pics of inside chassis. Never took it apart, and don't want to mess with it since I just sold it to Jake. It's got to be a revision F. Have no idea why it would not be.

The roadster is a great sounding amp. If it were me, i'd keep your closed back 2x12 and get a roadster head and go with some el34's. The roadster is the only mesa i've played through so i can't say how it compares to what you have now, but its is very versitile.

The general consensus is that the Roadster is less aggressive and a little more defined sounding.

That said, I've owned 2 Rev G Dual Rectifiers, a Roadster (serial # 416) and a Tremoverb.
I now own a Rev F Dual Rectifier.

So far, the Rev F and my 1st Rev G (very early one) are the best sounding as far as distortion goes.
The Roadster and T-Verb sounded very close, but seemed to be lacking a little bit of aggression that I was looking for when I got this amp.

The cleans on the Roadster are as close to the Lonestar's as possible. It's basically (basically, not identical) the same circuit.

All in all, I would definitely get another T-Verb. Most likely I would own another Roadster, but I don't like the 'Recto-Tracking,' which basically makes it so that you can only use the tube rectifiers in 50 watt mode.

If I bought another one within a year's time, it would be the T-Verb hands down. Especially since I already have the DR.

Nice cabs too!

The Roadster is a dual rectifier so both rec tubes can be used for 100 watts. It's the Lonestar that cuts you off at 50. Still a great amp though. I owned the v2 and almost exclusively played the 10 watt setting, great for both clean and dirty.

Those are 2 nice pieces of history there. Would you mind sharing some information or pictures of the inside chassis, such as Revision # or manufacture date? Your info could be useful for my site. Good luck with the sale!

You're getting a nice amp. The Rev F. Triple is one of the best sounding Rectos I've ever used, and this is coming from someone who has now owned 30+... I'm keeping mine (serial in the 1300's). I used to own one in the early 700's before. Rev F mixed with the extra headroom = an ass kicker. My bandmate - who doesn't even care for Rectos - said that he would like to have one after the first night I brought it to practice with me, and he's heard about 15+ Rectos I've owned before.

That croc finish is pretty amazing but for that kind of money you could by a roadster full stack and a real crocidile to protect it.

That's great to hear. I can't wait to hear it in person. I just hope my IIC+ hasn't spoiled me for Rectos. I love the way Rectos sound but I hope it still feels tight enough when I'm playing. That's why I wanted an earlier one in hope that it might be a little tighter sound than the newer 3 channels. What do you think?
