The Turbo Pup is the swiss-army knife of amps for gigging musicians. It is one of the best combinations of price, quality, features, tone and portability I've encountered. For a gigging musician, it would be hard to go wrong with a Turbo Pup. Nice overdriven sound. It cleans up well on humbuckers as the guitar's volume is rolled off. In fact, it cleans up well on all my guitars
Hand made in 1999, signed, numbered (L 1-003) and has "Made For" (buyers name) placed inside of the cabinet. Single-channel, non-master-volume point-to-point hand-wired amp which uses a pair of EL34s to generate about 35 watts (a conservative rating, I'm sure...) into a pair of specially-modified WeberVST "California" 10 inch ceramic magnet speakers.
There's also a single-knob tube-driven Accutronics spring reverb, which I'd say is somewhere between an Ampeg and Fender in character. There's also a balanced, low-impedance male XLR line-level output conveniently located on the front panel, and even an A/C accessory outlet the back panel!
The cabinet is solid, finger-jointed pine (not particle board), and is covered in dark green Tolex with a wheat-colored grill, and weighs in at around 65 pounds, not particularly light, but certainly manageable. The large magnets on the speakers add a bit of the overall weight, but they help this amp deliver it's very useable tonal palette.
Controls are Volume, Treble, Middle, Bass, Reverb, and Line-out level.
