I would never purchase from this guy.

is that an opinion or from experience?
He has made it obvious that he is a fan of the GT100 fine so be it. I have no idea if he has or had a V but a quick Google search will show that he has accounts on many of the usual places and has put up amps for sale in the past like it was going out of style.

Regardless, I write it off as someone that bought a boogie and it didn't live up to what he knows and loves so got rid of it.

I hold a 433 100% perfect ebay feedback score. I've owned, and own more high-grade gear than most. Luckily - money is not an issue - poor quality equipment is. I'm not bragging - it's a fact. I'm the kind of seller everyone hopes to purchase from... Hence the kind of stellar reviews I receive under "feedback as a seller". So when some troll makes comments like "I wouldn't buy anything from that guy" - your just displaying for everyone what an idiot you really are. Happy trolling... :D

Well, while I don't agree with what the other poster said about not buying from you....I have to say that what YOU did on this thread IS trolling. You can't expect to come to a Boogie board, no less, and disparage the brand most people here love....and not call it trolling.

Paraphrased from Wikipedia:
In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or collaborative content community with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response

I hear allot of people are already selling theirs and going back to Mark IVs saying that the mark V isn't all its cracked up to be.
The wait was too long and the hype too great. By the time June rolled around people were starting to believe the Mark V was going to fix the economy, save their marriage, and sound like angels singing.

This amp sounds like demons buttfucking. It's awesome.

You're right. I need to stick to talking about how aweful the Bogner Ecstasy (100B not included), and Shiva amps sound. Thanks!

Well, there you go...at least you're admitting it

I had a Mark V, but sold it. I think it's a **** great amp, I won't bash it at all. One of - if not THE - most versatile amp I've ever owned. So, why did I sell it? For a few reasons...

I'd probably never use it live these days with my current bands, so that means I don't need the versatility it offers. It would be for practice jamming and recording.

With that in mind, on Channel 1, I'd be using it primarily for cleans. Well, I have a IIC+ and a JC-120H that can give me solid state sparkle and tube warmth cleans.

On Channel 2, I'd just be using it to dial in some Marshall-esque crunch. Well, I have an '81 Marshall JCM 800 (first year production model) that still has original tubes in it that sounds fantastic. That's all the the Marshall crunch I'd ever want.

On Channel 3, I'd use it exclusively for Mark series high gain stuff. Well, I have a 105 PT IIC+ still loaded with STR 415's. Needless to say, that cover all the Mark high gain sounds I'd ever want.

So with that in mind, I didn't have a use to have $2k tied up in the amp. I thought it sounded great, but since I have other amps that does what I'd use it to do, I could think of many other ways I could spend $2k. For me, it wasn't about the sounds, I thought it sounded great. If I didn't have the other amps, I certainly would have kept it. From a practical perspective, it wasn't worth keeping for me.

But wouldn't it be easier to carry one amp? It just seems like that's a lot of amps to tote around... :?

that was my thought as well.. Would seem to make more sense unless the mkIIC+ tone on the V didnt live up to a MKIIC+ or the MKIV tone on the V didn't live up to the MKIV and so on then that might be more understandable.

I'm not carrying them all around. You must have missed this line...

My Recto pulls my live duty probably 90% of the time. The other amps are there to jam on and record with when I want extra clean, Marshall-esque crunch, etc. I certainly don't carry them all around with me... 8)

That's exactly what I was getting at. I have a JC-120H and the IIC+ for cleans, I prefer my '81 JCM 800 to anything on Channel 2, and I prefer my IIC+ to anything on Channel 3. If I wanted something close, all in one box for live use, the V would be great. Since I don't intend on using it live, it eliminates my need for it with the other amps I have.
