I play and set my settings perfect in the mix and by itself but whenever i play at a very popluar venue in san diego called soma... The guitar just sounds so harsh and dry the room has great acoustics but im wondering how the hell i can revive the sound since most of are live playing is at this venue... Im thinking about buying a t rex room mate reverb pedal and allways leaving it on... But ******* that venue can make the greatest tone sound like ****...The only amp ive had not sound like this live was my old soldano avenger (same drive channel as a slo 100) i miss that amp... But from my marshall jcm 2000 with a orange 4x12 to my fender deville orange 4x12 to my rectifer with 4x12 recto cab and not to my mark iv with recto 4x12... it all sounds so bad live..

Are you sure it sounds bad in the crowd? I only say this because a lot of times a stage mix will sound ******, and we are sure the mix was terrible, but people who know our band well will tell us the mix was great, etc. Keep in mind most venues, if they are acoustically designed, are designed to sound good in the seats, not on the stage...

yep, and the better you can hear yourself (in a good way), typically it will sound dryer. The bad part is even when you sound like a million bucks in the crowd, you think you sound like crap, every single small mistake sounds amplified and can bring down your confidence. :(
