what is the difference between the small mesa logo and the normal mesa logo.is the small one a different rev or a specific year?

The small logo Mesa Rectos are among the first ones ever built, from around 1992 to 1994 I believe, and this includes the Rev C through F boards if I'm not mistaken, then sometime in 1995, they changed to the bigger logo, different knobs, and Rev. G I believe. I may be totally wrong about the time frame, but the small logos are the early rectos, and include the coveted "Pre-500" Dual Rectifiers.

do the rec c and f boards sound better im not sure as if this one is a pre 500 all i can remember is the small mesa logo .cheers

I agree check out the rectifier lineage thread to learn more, but in a nut shell, people (including myself) prefer the sound of the earlier rectifiers (revC,RevD,RevF) to that of the later revG.
