I want to try slaving my dual rectifier solo rack mount through my Mesa 295
Can I use one speaker cab as a dummy load and turn the master volume to off and then listen to another speaker cab off the 295?
I basically just want to test it out and see how the tone is.

If I do like it, could anyone recommend a good load box I can buy online.

My end game is to eventually share a fx unit between the quad and the recto with a high gain amp switcher and run both units through the 295 with stereo fx via g-major

You can give this a try but, I think if you turn off the master then the signal to the "Slave" out jack will be turned off also. I think as long as you have a speaker attached to the Racktifier your ok to run the test without hurting anything.

If the effects loop was converted to a serial loop then you could just take the signal from the loop "Send" into the 295. (Of course you would still need a speaker attached to the Racktifier) The other option would be a THD hotplate or something like it to load down the Racktifier. Then you can use the "Slave" output to the 295 without any speakers being used with the Racktifier.

I hope this helps more then it confuses.

This makes sense and yes you were right no go on the master.
I did try the slave output to the 295 with the recto loaded on another cab.
Not ideal for testing though
My cousin has a THD hotplate he can loan me soon.
So I'll set the THD to load and see what the 295 sounds like with the recto.
Thanks for the reply

I do this with a Hotplate, Recto Rackmount and 2:90(Triaxis/2:90 rig). Sounds great and keeps me from needing a 3rd cab.
