the singer in my band uses a vocal effects unit . It has a smart harmony thing that he uses somethimes where you put another signal into it and it bases the vocal harmony off that .works well with some single note guitar parts we do .doesnt let any sound through just uses the pitch . after telling him 100 times he's not splitting my signal with a crappy cable splitter thought about the slave out .

There's no dangers or down side to using the salve out for this is there other than watching the level going into his digitech unit ?

It's just sending the preamp signal out, so it shouldn't be all that loud. Try it with the slave level all the way down and slowly turn it up and see what happens!

This is incorrect. The slave out is tapped off the Output Transformer, contains both the preamp & poweramp signal, and can get very, very loud.

FYI- Because the slave out is from the OT, you cannot insert it back into the same amp, it will create a feedback loop which is bad for the amp.

This is all covered in the amp's owners manual.
