Hello, I've been playing around with the slave out on my MkV and I am wondering if I am doing things right? I've got a jack going from the slave out to my Presonus Firepod and then I'm using impulses from recabi.net through Space Designer in Logic Pro. I'm not really satisfied with the sound I'm getting, the clean is fine but the disorted channels are extremely fizzy. Anybody here got some experience recording with the slave out and maybe has some sound clips I could listen too ?

If your distortion is fizzzy, I would try adjusting the settings on your impulses. You are getting all the high end the amp can give you. This is normally filtered through guitar speakers, which are not full-range at all like computer speakers or studio monitors.

Also, as the slave out comes from the Output Transformer, the same sort of tube amp theory applies: as it gets louder, it gets better. Maybe you could try turning the amp up and the slave level down?

Bah, I knew I was doing some silly mistake. I just noticed that I was monitoring both the dry and wet signal and it got all better once I switched it to all wet :p
