Single Recto effects loop

From what I have read the effects loop on the Single Rectos is less than ideal. I experienced this last night when I ran a chorus through mine. I have only had the amp a couple of weeks but the previous week with nothing in the loop and the mix knob set to low the thing sounded superb. This week I ran the loop and at first could not hear the chorus when engaged. Then I adjusted the mix knob up. Chorus but crap sound.
I have read where some people have re wired it to serial instead of parallel but I believe you lose the solo boost function which for me is out of the question . I only use limited effects for a couple of songs but would like them in the loop.
Has anyone got an solution for this?

You don't lose the solo function when converting to serial. I converted mine and so did a friend of mine (we both have rectoverb combos) and we both still have the solo function. It makes the amp sound better when you do the serial mod IMO. The parallel loop seemed to sound like crap when you opened it up full blast. The serial is 100% in a sense, but sounds great.

I modded mine to serial about a week ago. Very easy to do. Its so much better for effects. Sorry but I havent tried the solo function since & the amp is at the practice pad.

What is the process for converting the Series II Single Recto parallel loop to series? Any pictures? I am running an EQ pedal in my loop and am thinking that my results would be a bit better if I was using a series loop.
