I know I can basically turn the guitar signal off adjusting the decimator, but would there be any pros/cons to running the amp louder than normal (output is at about 10 oclock, master is at 10 to) and upping the signal squash on the ISP? Or is this just counter intuitive because it will have the same effect at low volume with less squash?

any input would be appreciated. thank you.

Theoretically, running the amp louder will have more noise, even if the input is grounded, and running more squash will give more artifacts from the gate.
