single rectifier solo 50 problem

i bought my solo 50 in july. the feedback is getting uncontrolable and then my sound starts doing waves. after turning it on standby then thurning it back on the problem disappears (for a little while) can anyone help?

Sounds like a bad preamp tube.

Try taping each preamp tube lightly with a pencil eraser. Any noise that comes through is a bad tube. IF the preamp are fine, replace the power tubes. If by waves you mean volume swell, the power tubes are probably going.

what are yout channel volumes set at?
I used to get that sound when turning the channel volumes too loud.

Ive had this problem before. I went away after I changed the tubes. duh!. :roll:
