Simulclass question.....I've seen heads that have the simulclass switch and some that say their simulclass without the switch in back, but they have 34's on the outside. Is there a way to know for sure when the switch isn't there?
When the switch which is labeled "Simul Class / Class A" isn't there?
It could be on the front of the amp. It's not always on the back.
Can't say I have ever seen a Simul-Class amp that did not have a switch.
It may be labeled "Half power" versus "Simul Class/ Class A".
I've never heard of a "permanent simul-class" amp that Marvel speaks of.
Is it only Simulclass if you can physically switch to the outer pair.
No, an amp with a 60/100 watt switch will turn on just the outer pair as well.
Is this what the half power switch on some MKIII's is doing?
Not necessarily.
Most that have the "half power" switch are long heads.
Some of these long heads are Simul Class amps, some are 60/100 watt amps.
Only way to really tell is to look at the Output Transformer.
If it's model # is "562003" it's a Simul (It will also have "Simul Class" on the OT).
If not its a 60/100 watt amp.
