I read somewhere on the forum that a Simul 2:90 can be run at Class A (roughly 15W??) by pulling the inner 4 6L6s and running either 6L6s or EL34s in the outer 2 pairs (4 total). Can someone in the know please verify this?
I have a 2:90 that has popped a couple 6L6's and the main fuse on me, and I am in the process of trying to troubleshoot the unit. Im trying to get it set up with my studio pre, its just been sitting for a year and I am not sure if I just popped a tube or if there is something more serious going on. I want to try to run it in Class A just to see if it passes signal. After I replace the fuse of course.
Is JUST Class A a possibility?
