I was just checking out a DC-3 combo on ebay and in the description it says, "There are Six 12AX7s in the preamp, and they are not shared between channels so that different tubes may be installed to adjust the tone of each." I've got the manual for the DC-3 and under the description of tube functions it reads:
V1A First Rhythm
V1B First Lead

This leads me to think the V1 tube affects the sound of both channels. Am I thinking of this wrong? And along those lines, does anyone know if my Studio Series is the same way (actually I'd love it if any of you know the tube layout for the Studio Series!). Thanks in advance.

Sorry can't help on the Studio series, but certainly with the Mark series amps the first tube (if not all) is shared between the channels.
