Hey:

I am going to send my amp back to Mesa for a closer examination of some perceived issues I am having with it. My question to all of you is, come Monday, what will be the process I follow? I know I'll need to call them (which I already have done a couple of days ago concerning my problem, which they recognized as being such) before shipping. Is it difficult to remove the chassis from the head? I have a Roadster. Also, is it expensive to ship it? Is there anyone out there with experience in this process?

I think I am also going to order a new head shell to match my ivory vinyl finished Port City Wave 212. I think that the Vanilla Vinyl will come closest to that.

Thanks.

Mesa will tell you the process, what your shipping options are, and that you should not remove the chassis from the headshell.

It is very easy to remove the chassis from the head shell, just remove 4 screw on the bottom of the head and pull them all the way out, and disconnect the reverb wires and just slide the chassis out. But I suggest keeping the chassis in the head shell for shipping. It will be Much safer for the tubes and parts on the chassis.

It says in the Roadster manual though that you are not permitted to send the head shell back, just the chassis.

Hmmm, thats odd? I wonder why they don't want you to send the head shell back. Very odd :?
But to send it, I would take out all the tubes so they don't break during transportation.
