Hi Group,

New member, long time guest.

I may be giging for a corporate band and have run into a new dilema...my MK V is too loud. Even in 5W mode will the levels almost off...I know crazy.
Anyway, the band has near zero stage volume and all instruments run direct with everyone using in-ear monitors. I come to the group asking if anyone has sucessfully
rigged up a method to run their MK V direct to the board with acceptable tone?

You can do what I do for silent recording. Mark V into hotplate, set for load (ie silent). Technically, you wouldn't need a speaker cab, but I would hook one up just in case. Run the line out from the hotplate into a laptop running your recording software. Set the software to see the line in from the hotplate. Load a speaker impulse. Sent the audio out to the board.

Way too much work, I would think. You could maybe do something similar, but instead of the laptop/impulse route, use a hughes and kettener red box speaker sim.

The mark may not be the best tool for this situation.

This is almost exactly how I record mine: Mark V -> Radial JDX -> Hot Plate set to "load". The JDX is a speaker-level, speaker-compensated DI box. XLR off of the JDX into my interface.

Agreed...just wanted to know if there was a way to accomplish without having to purhcase more gear. Seems like my answer is no.

Thank you both for the feedback.
