Hi there, can anyone give me any info on how the adaptor works on the rocktron 7/5 pin midi cable works?
I'm using it for a G major 2 which doesnt have phantom power.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm new to this midi thing!

Cheers

im not familar with your exact midi pedal, but what you need to do is use a 5 pin cable and a power adapter for the controller pedal. if you have another piece of rackgear that has 7pin phantom then just make that the piece that connects directly to the controller pedal.

hope that helped, if not then i wasted probably about a minute of your life, pretend you can get that minute or so of your life back.

good luck

thanks mate, I appreciate your help. I think the little adaptor at the 5 pin end is so you can plug an ac power plug into it. You can put it all nice and neat in the back of your rack instead of at the front with the controller.

Cheers

Rocktron makes a 5 to 7 midi cable with a plug for power at one end

I had a long 7 pin midi cabe and a short 5 pin cable. Bought a little experimenters box, a 5 pin din socket, a 7 pin din socket, and a 2.1mm PSU socket. Fixed them into the box, wired it all together (pins 1 and 7 are the power supply). 7 pin cable went into midimate, 5 pin cable into G-Force, and PSU into power socket...and Bob's your uncle (or Sheila's your Aunty!)
