Hey there.
Guitars are tracked with my favorite poweramp, the simulclass 295.
please tell me what you think about the production (i know, the song can get a bit boring;) ).

big file dont have patience dowloading it !
Try downloading Quicktime basic without the iTunes crap. Then you can real-stream files like this in the browser window.

I dont use quicktime,my pc is for recording and sometimes quicktime freezes everything

Updated Version (less "dangerous" kick"), same Link.

Shorter Sample for Sombra:

Pretty Star Short Sample

here you go mate

@ytse_jam: yepp, all real drums.
the snare gave me a hard time, coz i had to get rid off alot of ring and overtones that sounded like crap ;)

I liked the sound of the instruments except drums.
Drums sounded like pink floyd 1978 recordings, without punch.
I liked the voice s tone.
It is well recorded BUT
I didnt liked the song at all.
I missed a part or bridge or whatever that capture my feelings but to my ears song sounded very flat without any excitement.
Starts and finished and nothing happened.
Maybe a time change could bring some life to it I dont know.
It could be an elevator s song because nobody will pay attention to it.
Maybe a BON JOVI s chorus type I dont know.

Sorry

no need to feel sorry, i didn't write that song..;)
i also think it's pretty boring ;)

funny you mention 1978 p.floyd...
the reference given by the band was "make it sound like somewhere between The Who and Deftones"....
muhahaha....

thanks for your opinion sombra

so far it's a mix between my own studios and a studio i'm hireing (i'm the head-engineer there, so i get good rates).
i'm actually building my own studio atm, but that's gonna take a year until it's finished.
so until then i gotta work at my small studio and the other place (that's not mine (didn't buy it), but i'm pretty much the only one working there, so i consider it being "my studio" ;) ).

here's the link to my page:

nice,
is that ns-10 on the top-left pic?
like to have a pair myself, only i never have the money for them and a good poweramp at the same time;)

most work i do (editing/mixing etc) i do in my bedroom...
the big studio i'm only using when i need big rooms or a couple of them (it's like 6 rooms linked with each other) and lots of preamps...although i hate the dm2000 ones (and of course to impress clients ;) )

so usually my working area looks pretty much like yours at the moment....

what is a dm 2000 ?
Never heard about it.
Are you from germany ?
Oh my good you cant imagine my desire to live in your country.
Parents from a friend of mine are germans.
I love when they talk to me about their country.
Nice talking to you
see yeah

dm 2000 is a crappy digital console from yamaha...
the preamps and converters make everything sound flat, tiny and lifeless.....

yepp, i'm living in germany....but i could also imagine to have a nice studio somewhere at a big lake in the forests of sweden or something ;)

I prefer caribbean.
Im a guitar player and I am a scuba diving and skydiving instructor too.
So I love ocean, beaches ,sun etc.
I dont live without ocean

i've got the baltic sea like 5km next to my home, but that's a bit colder than the caribbean though ;).
i think i could live with the caribbean too....
i'm just fearing, that there are less metal-musicians there, lol

where are you from?
