We are looking for a setup to get the early EVH sound.
We have been trying to get to it with the pure amp sound with out going through a processor. We do have a Boss gt 10 I would like to use it just for the effects not the pre amp.
The other question we have have is that on the 4th chanel at about 12 we start to get a lot of humb.

Any help would be great.

Hum wise, probably one of the preamp valves is not in very good condition. I would suggest you check it out. Also, I can't never stress this enough, but run your amp thru a power conditioner. Gets rid of hum, and makes your rig sound better at the same time...

Not too sure about early EVH tones, but there's a video whereby the user has set up his combo to sound a lot like EVH's tone, albeit perhaps it's one of the more modern tones...

Is thier a bench make as how long a set of tubes will last.these are played everday for the last three years.
What are first signs of the degrading..

Three years seems like a long time. I would suggest you revalve your amp, especially since you use it often, and perhaps fairly loud as well. There's no fixed time for the valves to last...
