I got a smoking deal on a Roadster head with a 4x12 Recto Slant Cab. I'm trying a midi rig out(have used pedals till this point). So I have the GSP1101 with the FCB1010. Hated to see my Express 212 5:50 go but needed the funding. I'm running the GSP with the 4CM and bypassing all the GSP preamp stuff and using the Roadster Preamp (of course). If I run headphones out of the GSP I get my roadster preamp and the GSP effects. I turn the main output of the Roadster all the way down, but I leave the cab plugged in. This is sweet at night cause I won't wake up the wife or the kids. My question is can this hurt the head. My thought is that there is no real power going out of the power tubes so I should be OK without a power soak. But will this hurt the preamp tubes, or plate etc. I thought I would ask ye wisemen what you thought. :)

I don't think it will hurt anything if you are only doing this for a short period of time. I've read here (and elsewhere) of people leaving the amp on (not standby) for days and taking out the power tranny, so be careful.

IMHO, if all you're going to play is in your bedroom, Mesa ain't the amp company for you

Saw above comment, was kinda sad.
I was going to get the ultimate amp, ROAD KING!!!
Any advice on get the maximum out of the amp at bedroom level?

Dom, Thanks for your input.
Kisses, I work 12 hr shifts, get home at eight, put the kid to bed and get a little time to jam before bed and get up and do it again. The headphone out is a good way for me to dial in the GSP (it's new fx unit for me) some with the preamp of the Mesa so I have an idea of what the result will be when we pract/gig. Thanks for your contribution though.
