Hey all,

I'm thinking about a G-System to go with my roadster. This would be awesome, but is also problematic from what I can tell- I don't want to have to tap dance, and I want to be able to use the clean and distorted channels that are stock with the Roadster. The G-System can't control the Roadster channels, unless I'm mistaken..

SO- My question is, although I love the stock gain channels in my Roadster (I play metal), Is there a stomp box distortion that is worthy of A) taking the place of my Roadster channels 3 and 4, and B) sitting next to a G-system on the floor and being in the G-system's loop?

I'm really into the G-System, but not being able to control my Roadster channels natively is a bitch. So, I'm trying to think of ways around this before I make a purchase.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

I've never heard a distortion pedal sound as good as a quality tube amp.

I am not sure why you would want to spend $2000 on an amp and then only use the clean channel with a distortion box just so you could use a multi-fx unit. It seems like a one-channel clean amplifier + distortion pedal would be a more economical choice if the G-system is the most important thing to you.

With that said, I thought the G-system could switch amp channels, but I've never used one so I don't know for certain. If it can, that'd be the best of both worlds for you.

I've since found resolution to this question- Apparently the G-System is fully capable of controlling the channels in my Roadster. It's not necessarily the most important thing to me to have the G-system, I'm just looking to eliminate all of the tap dancing and mucky muck currently on the floor in front of me, and at gigs. I have yet to try the G-system, only to watch videos on it. Now that I know it can function the way I need it to, the next thing is to plug into one and find out if it sounds half decent for the investment it would be, right? *crosses fingers hehe*

And yeah, I never really wanted to have to use a stomp box overdrive, knowing how sweet the natural tones of my Roadster are! :) And the G-System doesn't even have any drive effects on board. They know that true drive comes from a bad ass tube amp!

Switching channels is as easy as buying and programming an RJM mini amp gizmo. I would ditch effects altogether if it meant compromising on my godly roadster's drive tones.
