I'm assuming Mesa is going to update all of the Rectos like they have with the new Dual and Triple. I'm interested in the Roadster but I was wondering if I should wait.

Anyone hear when this might happen?

The updates to the DR's are to make it more like the Roadster.

huh?

The Roadster already has the updates for the Dual Rectifier. Basically, seems like the only differences between them are number of channels, Roadster having a superior clean channel still, and voicings...

to further clarify,

the roadster came out with all of the options that are now in the 3 channel rectos.
They made the 3 channels more like the roadster, minus the extra channel.

If that's true, it's kind of disappointing to me. The Roadster's only $200 more than the Dual Rectifier for the extra channel. I was kinda hoping the update was going to be something to make the Dual Rec unique sounding as compared to the Roadster.

Plus, you get a pretty good built in reverb, with adjustable levels for each channel, with the Roadster. IMO the Roadster is well worth the rather steep price tag.

They ARE unique sounding. They both have different voicings to suit different players...

The roadster is a dark sounding rec, personaly I dont care for it, I much prefer my roadking 1 over the roadster and even the 2 and 3 channel duals.

On Mesa's website they mention both a change in features, and some tweaking in the sound.

The change in features definitely follows the Roadster, whether the tweak in sound is patterned after the Roadster is another matter entirely.

Without having played a 2010 Rec I wouldn't think Mesa would make them sound just like the Roadster so they don't cannibalize each other's sales...having owned a 2009 Roadster I look forward to comparing myself.
