Bought a used Roadster recently, which is proving an excellent addition to my current crop of Mesa amps

Changed pre / power valves as usual when I buy used, but the reverb has not been working properly (before and after valve change). When activated from the footswitch, there is no "effect". All verb channel pots at the rear work across their range, the preamp valve controlling the verb circuit is known to be good, the tank itself and internal visible connections seem fine (had it out of the head today), and the input / output audio cables look and feel intact

Short of changing tanks and running new audio cables, I can't see another solution unless I've missed something obvious

Any ideas / suggestions folks? Thanks in advance ..

Does the reverb function when the footswitch is disconnected?

Good thinking SD

Nope, it does not work with FSW connected or disconnected. Even changed FSW cables, but no joy. Starting to get buzz and rattles from the rev tray now, so will try a replacement tray to rule that out also

Any other suggestions?

BTW: had great results with a Tungsol in V1 as you and others here suggested. Livens up Ch 3 & 4 in particular. This will be a great amp when I get it working 100%

Unfortunately, no. I'd double check the reverb driver and the leads to the tank, along with giving the tank a visual inspection for dents/damage, but it sounds like you've done that already.

Update: the culprit was the reverb tray, which was replaced by the dealer / importer. The amp now sounds awsome
