Roadster or Road King version 1?

Are you talking tone or function?

Function the roadking is just that the king. Tone wise it really depends on the person. The roadster is darker, where the original roadking is even different then the recto's, I consider it a mix between a 3 channel recto and a tremoverb, sounds like it has slighty more upper midrange, but not as much as the tremoverb.

Personaly I picked the RK I over the roadster and 3 channel dual.

That was the choice I faced this week. I ended up going with the road king 1, this is my second one. I am a glutton for punishment though. I love choices in my tone. I get a bunch with the road king. I like being able to select depending on my mood to run 6l6 or el34 or both. I don't think you will be sorry with either. I am more than happy with the cleans with the road king 1 which seems to be a drawback for some folks. For me they are great. But to each his/her own. Good luck.

yea... I like my cleans since I started using SPAX-7's in the Roadking 1.
